The Event Returns for the Second Year to the Valley
After a successful inaugural year in 2010, the Vail Automotive Classic?s Wheels and Wings Show returns to the Vail Valley Jet Center in Gypsum, CO and Vail Village on September 10-11, 2011. ?Featuring a wide array of cars, aircraft, and motorcycles, the event is the only one of its kind on the Western Slope. ?We?re expecting over 230 cars, aircraft, and motorcycles this year, which is nearly double last year?s display,? says Vail Automotive Classic Board member, Doug Landin. ?Also new this year, we?ll be giving awards for cars in nine categories, motorcycles in two categories, and aircraft in two categories. ?There?s plenty to do with airplane rides, helicopter rides, emergency and military vehicle tours, scale models, and more.?
In 2010, over 3,000 people attended the First Annual Wheels and Wings Show in Gypsum with over 125 cars, 20 motorcycles and 20 aircraft on display. Vail Village welcomed nearly 5,000 guests to the show the following day to admire the over 60 cars on display.
