Job Description:

The Graduate School of Education and the Psychology Program, Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, and Egyptology in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, at the American University in Cairo are seeking applications for a joint-department tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor to begin fall 2012.

The Departments are looking for excellent candidates in the fields of Cognition, Learning Theory, Human Development, and Educational Psychology. Candidates should have a strong record of successful research and university level teaching experience; teaching experience at the gradate level is preferable. Candidates should be willing and able to contribute to the ongoing development of the graduate programs.

Successful candidates will be able to teach a variety of graduate courses including Human Development and Learning, as well as participate in advising and supervising Master?s degree theses.

Requirements:

A completed Ph.D. and university level teaching experience are required.
Successful candidates should have an ongoing program of research and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include graduate teaching and service to the departments and the University.
